How to Overcome Fear and Walk in Courage
Courage is not the absence of fear. It is the decision that fear will not make your choices for you.

Fear Often Tries to Predict and Control
Fear warns you about potential danger, but it can also exaggerate uncertainty and lead you to avoid every uncomfortable step. When fear becomes the decision-maker, purpose shrinks.
Biblical courage does not ignore risk. It brings risk into prayer, seeks wisdom, and moves in obedience rather than panic.
Calm Your Body Before Solving the Whole Problem
Slow your breathing. Place your feet on the floor. Relax your shoulders. Name five things you can see. A calmer body can help you think more clearly and pray more honestly.
Then ask, “What is happening right now?” not “What terrible thing might happen later?”
Name the Fear Precisely
Are you afraid of rejection, failure, embarrassment, conflict, bad news, losing money, being alone, or making the wrong decision? Specific fear can be addressed. Vague fear feels unlimited.
Write the feared outcome, the likelihood, the evidence, and the support available if it occurs.
Choose a Courageous Next Step
Courage grows through action. Make the call, submit the application, attend the meeting, have the conversation, or ask the question. Break large actions into smaller ones if necessary.
You can be afraid and obedient at the same time.
Create a Courage Declaration
Build a statement from Scripture: “God is with me. I have power, love, and a sound mind. I will not allow fear to decide this step.” Repeat it before the action, not only after fear has taken over.
Celebrate obedience, not only outcomes. A courageous step is a victory even when the result is still unfolding.

· What courageous step can you take within 24 hours?
A Battle Ready Prayer
Lord, I bring You the fear I have been carrying. Give me power to act, love to respond well, and a sound mind to make wise decisions. Go before me as I take the next courageous step. Amen.
Your Next Step
Choose one fear-based delay and complete a ten-minute action toward it today. Record what happened and what you learned.
